I believe that using the word “try” is often a form of self-deception. Do you ever say, “I will try to contact,” instead of simply, “I will contact”? If so, aren’t you using a little three-letter word as an excuse to fall back on if the contact isn’t successful? Aren’t you deceiving yourself, and giving yourself permission to fail, by saying, “Well, I tried, but…”? Saying “I can” and “I will,” conveys a much stronger commitment to achieving our goals than saying, “I will try.” We must always be 100 percent dedicated and committed to what we can and will do. We are at best only halfway committed if we choose only to try.

I know that some people tell me that when they get home and start to go to sleep that they have trouble getting to sleep because they are thinking, wow, we could use some extra income. Can I do what they did and start a business or they think ...I wish I had enough money to get all the other things I wanted and maybe I should have a party. Were you one of those people who had trouble getting to sleep because you had some of those same thoughts last night too. " If they said they went right to sleep, then let them know again how you appreciated the time they took from their busy day to join you. If they had trouble getting to sleep then ask more questions and help them sign up or schedule a date.

Who is building a business with young children at home? Phone time is fun time can be helpful at your house. Here is how it works. Find something fun for the kids to do when you are on the phone. Then tell them it is "Phone time is Fun Time". Dial until you reach one person and then say, "Great job helping mom! What do you want to do with me now?" Then every 3 hours do it again. Your kids will love it and your business will grow. I would declare bubble's day at our house. Every time I was on the phone, they blew bubbles on a drop cloth near me. The key is to stop after one completed call and then do something with them and then let them go back to the activity the next time you are making your next call. This time of year (again on a drop cloth), they could make wrapping paper for the holiday gifts. Even a real little one could enjoy it. Printers have big rolls of paper.

Today is the day to do something for your business that you have always thought about doing and have not done it yet. Say to yourself, "Today's the day, I am going to..." What could that be for you? Maybe it is..., invite everyone you talk to join you in starting a business or plan an open house, mystery hostess, get your January calendar booked, make the calls you have been putting off. Deciding you will do it and not just thinking about what you want to do can make such a difference in your business.

I did something just a few weeks ago that I had thought about and had not taken any action to do it. I announced my training cruise in February. I have always believed cruises were a great place for a seminar, retreat and relaxation at the same time. My theme for 2012 DESERVE (Dreams, Experiences,Success, Energy, Rewards, Value and Enjoyment) is a perfect theme for different types of training. I love cruising and thought how can I do it more often and still do lots of training to help people. Then I thought I can train in a hotel for all my trainings or I can have the ocean as a seminar location once in a while. I decided, OK, I will call some cruising companies and see how that can happen. It happened! I know many of you are excited about it. We have had some wonderful family time! We are about to go meet friends that we met on a cruise a couple years ago. It is so nice to get to see them when we are in PA. I always love to share at my seminars that when you are out and about sharing, you may meet new friends, and they do not always have to be someone who does something to grow your business. It can and will be the same for you as you enjoy the rest of the weekend sharing along the way. I can remember sharing with Saundra that I had my own business helping people to feel comfortable sharing their business. She is a teacher and said that is an important thing to do. I suggested she look into starting her own business too. I always suggest that people look at the companies that are out there and choose something they would have a passion for. I know that when you are in the sharing spirit you can enjoy sharing everywhere with everyone too. So today's tip is to be an equal opportunity sharer.

And now it is time for countdown tip 40 and thought to launch the new year! I am really working at being able to walk for longer periods of time. Bob purchased a pedometer for me yesterday. It is so nice not wondering anymore if I am increasing my daily steps. I have something to show me whether I am or not. I also have a 9 year old cheerleader who was checking it throughout the day and encouraging me. I am not with him today but I decided that I will be able to tell him every day that I am reaching my goal. I got up early, got on the treadmill and walked for 20 minutes. Even though I have a lot of pain, it still feels great! How many of you know what I mean? What are you going to do today to strengthen your business that might be uncomfortable but you know it will feel so good after you do it. Why is Gum a Good reminder to share your business?

You offer gum to people on a plane or when you are with someone, even when you do not know them, whether you know they chew gum or not. It is polite to do. Some people never chew gum, some think chewing gum is obnoxious, some are not able to because of dentures,some only chew sugarless. We share it though because we do not know how they feel. It does not bother us if the other person says yes or no. We are sharing just in case they want a piece. When people do the same with their business and detach feelings about whether the person says yes or no, it is amazing what happens!

Caring is the first word that comes to mind. We happen to be in Costa Rica in a Cafe. We have met so many Caring people in this Country. I am watching Children on the beach laughing and having a great time. When you Care about people you have a totally different attitude about sharing. You share your business with everyone and do not pick and Choose. You still feel good that you offered whether they are interested or not. A Challenge becomes a puzzle. You figure out how all the pieces fit. Create a successful business. Courage is within you to step out of your Comfort zone. It is Considerate when sharing your business to not pick and Choose who you share with. When you have your own business it should not be a Choice if you work but it is always a Choice when to work when you have your own business. Consistency is the key. Calling people on the phone is a way to let people know you Care, I hope you are using my Calling guide and enjoy Checking the different Categories off using the languge which will help you do a Complete Care Call.( message me with your email for more info about this book) The more you share and Care, the bigger your Check is from your company.

You are the key to Your success. This is Your Year to make things happen. Forget Yesterday and decide today is the day to make the decision that You have something someone needs.
Do You want to be the consultant who is known as the consultant who shares with everyone and is happy whether someone says Yes or no and that Your goal is to always be sure the person You are sharing with feels valued no matter what they say.
Or are you the consultant that people would say, they seem to pick and choose who they share with, looking for people who they believe will say Yes to satisfy their needs, not looking for someone who needs them.
Do you Yearn for success? Some people talk about the three feet rule which is really a Yard. I am sitting looking at the ocean and thinking what a great big Yard I have right now. And I did have to say Yikes today when I fell. Happy to report just a few bruises.

You are the one who can make a difference in people's lives when You make the decision to share your business. Share in case someone wants to say Yes. There are so many sharing opportunities. You can offer to do fundraisers for a Youth Group. Pull out your Yearbook and reconnect with people on Facebook. Who did you talk to Yesterday that you forgot to share with and can call today to be fair and share? Make it yellow day, While you are out and about look for 5 people wearing yellow. Tell them you are working with a business coach and a team of entrepreneurs. Let them know that today you are suppose to talk to 5 people wearing yellow to ask them if they have ever had an experience with Your company. Or make it a referral day and call people to ask them if they can help you with your business building game that you are playing with a team of entrepreneurs. Tell them you are working on the letter Y. Ask them if they have ever been to Yellowstone, been to Youngstown, worked in a Youth organization, have Yarn in their house or could fit any category that begins with Y. Talk to someone in their Yard. Have fun! Ask everyone if they have ever had an experience with your company.

I would love for everyone to share what they think. I believe it is important to say, "I want to teach you how to share your business with people you do know and people you don't know. I want to teach you how to do that so that whether they are interested or not, they always feel valued, cared about, and feel great that you shared with them. I also want to help you learn to share all the services we offer from helping people start businesses as I am doing with you now, informing others that we have a generous hostess program, and letting people know that they can always have access to our products through you now. I feel it is only fair to share everything and let them choose what they would like to know more about.Would you agree?" The key is to encourage them to develop good habits from the beginning.

It is letter U today! Make this an Unbelievable day. Use your skills that you learned as a child to share your business. Your business will help you to Utilize the skills you have and help you develop new ones. Having a business and growing in your business is going to give you the feeling of attending a University and earning a new degree. With this degree you can go straight to the top! You are not waiting Until someone decides to promote you. Would extra income be Useful to others you know? Sharing with everyone can help you find out who could Use the services that you offer. Build a team and feel United with people who want to put Umbrellas away and are ready to look for the sunshine. Your Ultimate goal is to share and care and help others Understand that you are there to help anyone who could Use what have you have to offer.

Share with 5 people today who are wearing some type of a uniform. Of course it is important to share with everyone. Since I suggest at least 5 sharing contacts a day you can have fun today and call or meet people who wear some type of uniform for work! Who are some people you know who wear a uniform? There are a lot of people who do wear a uniform from servers to nurses to military, law enforcement, people who work at companies and many more.

It is letter T day. Did you ever think of your Telephone as your Transportation to get to work? When you pick up the Telephone it is as if you were getting in your car to go to work. We could take a no Thank you as a red light on our commute. The light changes and then you can keep on going and we know there could be more red lights. It is ok. We still keep on going and then we do get the opportunity to get to work. There could even be a detour. We still keep on going. Pick up the Telephone Today and make 5 contacts. I want you to Thrive in your business and not just survive. Talking to others is when you are really open for business. Thank people for their Time. It is a gift people give you. Today is an easy day to go out and share. Go to a Toy store, share with Teachers, ask for referrals for Teachers, look for someone with Twins. Share with someone wearing Teal. Look for someone buying Tomatoes at the grocery store. Share with a neighbor who is taking out the Trash or the Teller at the bank. Who do you know from Texas, Tennessee. Ask others who they know from there. Think about how Talking to someone Today could change Their life.

The Letter S

Share today with someone who is involved with Scouts, Service Industry, Shoppers, Sales Clerk. Make today the day you Schedule Sharing into your daily routine. Then do it for 21 days. It is letter R day! Who can walk into their work place today and say I want to give myself a Raise today and be sure that they get it? You can when you have your own business? Who can help change people's lives today by "just asking" , "Have you ever thought about doing something alongside your family and other activities to earn extra income?" You can when you are actively Recruiting. People can feel special because of you. What Risk do have as a professional sharer? There is no Risk when you work from the heart and feel good even when you get the Response , "no thank you". Do you know people are watching you, the minute you tell people you have your own business? You are a Role model and can show people that they too can have a business.

Share with 5 people today. Find someone wearing Red. Tell them you are doing a fun business activity and you have to ask 5 people wearing Red today if they have ever heard of your company. Then share in 30 seconds or less and thank them for helping you with your homework. Let them know that you would love to share more at a more appropriate time. Ask, "Would you feel comfortable giving me your name and phone number?" Think about people who work in Retail. They work long hours. Imagine what their business would like if they were working for even half the time in their own business. Set a goal to share with 5 people in retail during the week too!

I love having people in my life who are out there sharing something that they believe will make a difference in other people's lives. I always say that in the direct sales profession it is as if everyone is linked together just as doctors are in the medical profession. Drs choose different parts of the body to specialize in and Direct Sales people choose different product lines to specialize in. The mission to help others is the same.
